New In a New Year

New Year and New Year’s Eve, a time when some come up with a new resolution for a fresh start and a brink of new chances to do something new or amend previous mistakes for all the regrets and for impenitence to triumph. It is a moment or a time that makes everyone talk or write about it; anything and everything they feel is important at that rim of the ending year.TV shows and news host a special program, Blogs and social networks are overwhelmed with articles, statuses and links that are all about New Year.
There is no way one could escape this infectious festive holiday spirit so I too wanted to say something about new year even though it is so unlike me to be sucked in to such dramatic process I forced myself to think about it and to find a meaning to what it means to me especially since my (Ethiopian) calendar is different and I have had the chance to celebrate Ethiopian new year in September and this being my second new year.Upon my thoughts I found a away to square a second new year in my Ethiopian mind.
On September I planned and set my resolution which I somehow have been able to accomplish and would have been able to achieve more if I were less lazy and more planned which I feel boils down to being lazy. So my January new year gave me the opportunity to weigh up my performance against my resolution. So as a resolution for my resolution what I themed and lined was
I keep a close watch on this heart of mine
I keep my eyes wide open all the time
I keep the ends out for the tie that binds
Because my dream and plan is mine, I walk the line
.
Resolution and dreams are meant to be set and that imagination is limitless. Setting a goal is a purpose but achieving requires a will and commitment. So if these resolutions and dreams are the climax of our satisfaction then they worth the walk.
Let us walk.
